When you open MyIPSpot, your browser asks our edge function for your connection details: your IP address, approximate location, internet provider, ASN and timezone. That information comes from Cloudflare's metadata about your request. It is used for one thing, which is sending it back to your browser so you can see it. We keep no database of visitor IP addresses. There is nothing to leak, sell or hand over, because we don't retain it.
What we process
- Connection details, in passing. Your IP and the location derived from it are read at request time, returned to you, and discarded. The response is marked as not cacheable.
- Your theme choice, on your device. If you switch between dark and light mode, that preference is saved in your browser's local storage. It is not a cookie, and it is never sent to us.
What we don't do
- No cookies.
- No analytics beacons or tracking scripts.
- No accounts, so no passwords or emails to protect.
- No selling or sharing of personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
- No third-party requests from the page. Scripts and map data are served from our own domain.
The embeddable widget
Other websites can embed our IP widget. When a site does, its visitors' browsers
request myipspot.com/widget/ and /api/ip to show those visitors their own IP.
We detect the IP only to render the widget and store nothing. The widget sets no cookies and runs no
analytics.
Cloudflare
MyIPSpot is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and the lookup runs on Cloudflare's edge network. Like any host, Cloudflare processes requests, including IP addresses, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. That processing is covered by Cloudflare's privacy policy.
